Landscape Construction Competition
A landscaper creates or modifies outdoor landscapes in green spaces like gardens and parks. He or she must be able to design and construct in such a way that the garden will be contained, and can be maintained by either professional or home gardeners. A high level of accuracy is required, for example when levelling or measuring the dimensions of garden features, as this will impact on the overall appearance and the structure’s ability to withstand the outside elements. A landscaper works with trees, plants, and turf, and with bricks, pavers, timber, blockwork, stone, water features and walls.
YOU SHOULD PURSUE A CAREER IN LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION IF YOU:
- Enjoy working outdoors, particularly in parks and gardens
- Have an interest in the natural environment and introducing new resources
- Are able to transfer visual plans from paper to reality
- Can perform manual and heavy work
