Five minutes with…Dayna Moyses

Apprentice chef Dayna Moyses has been training hard at Tamworth TAFE NSW in the Commercial Cooking Course Certificate 3 and working at the Glasshouse Restaurant at Goonoo Goonoo Station in Timbumburri to prepare for the National Championships.

“My husband is a passionate chef who taught me at home, which made me decide to pursue my talent as a chef. I’ve always loved playing with food and flavours,” Dayna says.

When asked how she felt about the upcoming Skills Show event, Dayna expressed how excited and proud she was to be representing her region in the Commercial Cookery competition. “I would like to achieve the best possible outcome for myself and I hope to learn from the experience in how to better myself as a chef,” she says.

Dayna one day hopes to open a catering business or even a restaurant of her own. “I’m training weekly to try and be best prepared for whichever ‘mystery part’ is thrown at me so I can showcase my skills.

I’m excited and proud to represent my region in 2018 and make them proud,” she says.
